BTMK Solicitors are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier, on short- term 12 month contract, providing maternity cover, there may be an opportunity to offer a permanent position after the 12 months.
Experience in a legal account setting and a working knowledge of the SRA accounts rules is preferable. The role is based in our Madison House office and is a full-time position (short-term contract for 12 months). Working hours will be 9 – 5.15 Monday to Friday. Salary will be discussed during the interview process.
Please find below a description of some general duties, the list is not exhaustive but is meant to describe the regular work you will be required to conduct.
- Processing bills, including checking to ledgers
- Client to office transfers
- Accurate and timely processing of client and office account payments, cheque production and telegraphic transfers via electronic banking
- Legal aid postings
- Checking and balancing client completion statements/probate statements
- Interest calculations
- Checking compliance with the money laundering regulations when processing transactions
- Assisting with daily bank reconciliations and reviewing outstanding receipts
- Accurate and timely processing of client and office account payments, cheque production and telegraphic transfers via electronic banking
- Petty cash
- Processing and paying expenses
- Assisting with purchase ledger transactions
- Banking
- Carrying out analysis and ad hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager
- Covering for accounts staff on holiday/sickness
- Ensuring adherence to Solicitors Accounts Rules and firm policies at all times
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times
