WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO GO DOWN THE ROUTE OF AN APPRENTICESHIP?

I chose the apprenticeship route because it offers the perfect balance between practical experience and academic learning. Unlike traditional study paths, an apprenticeship allows me to gain hands-on experience in a real legal environment while working towards a recognised qualification. This practical approach not only accelerates my learning but also gives me the opportunity to contribute to real cases from the start.

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE TO START THIS JOURNEY WITH BTMK SOLICITORS?

Whilst I was doing my A-levels at college, I took part in work experience at BTMK Solicitors for a few weeks. This gave me an insight into the company and I valued the firm’s commitment to nurturing talent. At the start of this year, I  went on to become a Junior Casework in the Private Client department at BTMK. I have learnt a lot from this role but felt like it was time for me to progress. I was told about the apprenticeship from another apprentice in my department and I knew that this was the next step for me. BTMK offers a supportive environment where I can learn from experienced legal professionals and gain exposure to a range of cases. The firm’s values align with my own, making it the perfect place to grow my legal career and make a meaningful contribution to the team.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR THOSE CONSIDERING AN APPRENTICESHIP ROLE WITHIN THE LEGAL INDUSTRY?

Although I have not yet started my apprenticeship, my advice for anyone considering an apprenticeship in the legal industry would be to gain experience in a legal environment first. An apprenticeship means that you will be studying alongside working so it is important to know that you will be able balance both in such a demanding environment.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED FOR ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE AT BTMK?

I’m most excited about the opportunity to apply what I’m learning directly to real-world cases and to contribute meaningfully to the team at BTMK. The chance to work alongside experienced solicitors and gain hands-on experience in various departments across BTMK is very motivating. I’m also looking forward to building strong relationships with colleagues and clients, and being part of a firm that values professional growth. I am eager to see how my skills and knowledge will develop throughout this apprenticeship.
